Colleen may be one of the funniest brides I’ve met. I absolutely love her sense of humor- a little sarcasm combined with pure honesty. Mix that with Brett’s British humor and you can bet they make each other laugh all the time. This fall they were in town for her brother’s wedding, so we squeezed in their engagement session. They’ll be flying in this summer for their wedding in the States.

I’ve known Nicole for years. I was super excited when she booked me for her wedding. She’s pretty much the sweetest person you’ll ever meet and she’s stunning. When I met George, I could see how they just “clicked.” It makes perfect sense to me why they are together. Here’s a little glimpse at their engagement session. Amy & Scott: Married! | New Jersey Wedding Photography

It had rained all day. As it threatened their out door ceremony, Scott and Amy had to decide: Should they move their outdoor, lakefront ceremony indoors? Amy, in full giddy excitement, declared “I don’t care. In an hour, I’m marrying Scott!” Scott was like an anxious kid waiting to see her and didn’t mind moving their vows in doors. The staff at Frogbridge hustled to adjust for the change in plans. (Windows on the Water at Frogbridge has the BEST grounds for wedding pictures. Not to mention the exceptional service. CHECK IT OUT!).

Everything about this wedding screamed Amy and Scott. The funny, intimate, emotional ceremony. The cheery, earthy flowers. The playful grounds at the venue. The candy bar and cupcakes (check out the cupcake toppers!). Scott even built a tree shaped cupcake stand! You can only imagine how much fun Scott and Amy are to be around. Every single person at this wedding was grinning from ear to ear, laughing and dancing. As for Scott and Amy, well… they beamed, exuding pure love and happiness.

That’s why they make me love what I do.

Amy and Scott are the couple that remind me why I love my job. When I post their wedding, I’ll explain why.

Danielle & Fred: Married! | Philadelphia Wedding Photographer

Every wedding I find something that becomes my favorite part of the day. Sometimes its the ceremony, or the preparation, or a simple moment between the couple. But my favorite thing about Danielle and Fred’s wedding was the location for pictures… which was only enhanced by the couple and the bridal party. Prophecy Creek Park never looked so good! I loved Danielle’s bright color choices. Her flowers completed reflected her bright and cheerful personality. Fred and Danielle are a very sweet couple that just so easily make each other smile. Congratulations to you both!

So, I waited to post this for fear I’d jinx the Flyers… and in the end it didn’t matter.

This session was originally supposed to be Matt and Shannon’s engagement session but we couldn’t get into the Wachovia Center in time. When we had the chance to do it, we went anyway and it was awesome. While we walked around during our private tour, Preston and Steve were filming an episode for Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia. One of the actors from the show and a west coast producer were there too. Matt, a fan of both the radio show and the tv show, was obviously thrilled. These huge flyers fans were loving every minute of their tour. Thanks so much Katie for the tour. We had a blast!

Fred and Danielle got engaged in Olde City after a carriage ride. So, we returned to the scene and even hoped on a carriage ride (a first for me). It was unusually warm on this spring day, making it a perfect day for an e-sesh.

Caught in Action! | Philadelphia Proposal Photographer

Tonight my husband Rob and I went to an amazing Phillies game. But towards the 8th inning, I had no fear they’d win (they were up by 7 runs) and I was getting tired. Once we decided to take the long walk back to the car, I realized we walked passed our lot. So we turn around to head back. We’re just a few feet away from the car when I witnessed a proposal in action!! As a wedding photographer and a girl, I couldn’t help but squeeze my husband’s hand letting out an “Aww!!” Then I opened my big mouth and said “Congratulations!” (Gave me flash backs to our awesome public proposal). I heard them both laughing as we continue on to our car.

Then it hits me… DUH, Kathryn!! Get your CAMERA! (Fortunately, I had it with me from a shoot I did this afternoon). Part of me felt like I was being totally intrusive, but my gut told me she’d appreciate it. With camera in hand, I ran back to the couple and offered to capture the moment and email them a copy. The girl, rubbing tears of joy from her eyes, said “I’m a mess!” I told her “You look great! Come on!” Her new fiance is all smiles as he says to me “This is her dream!” I could only assume he meant having a photog on hand to capture the moment. Talk about luck!

Not wanting to completely interuppt this intimate moment, I quickly captured two shots, gave them my card, and went on my way. It happened in the blink of an eye. I’m not even sure if I remember their names correctly, but Brian and Gina- Congratulations, again, and Best Wishes!
